Red Pine Exploration Inc. reaches a new gold zone at the Surluga deposit of the Wawa project, which could increase current resources

One hole hit a mineralized envelope covering 27.26 meters (m) 140m down-dip from the resource limit in the northern part of the Surluga deposit in the Jubilee shear zone. Intersections included 18.21 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 1.95 m true width from a depth of 257.45 m and 18.14 g/t gold over 0, 82 m from a depth of 283.58 m.

Red Pine Exploration Inc (TSX-V:RPX, OTCQB:RDEXF) announced assays from last year’s drilling program, which include the discovery of a new zone called the Surluga North discovery, which has the potential to to extend the current resources of Surluga Deposit to its Wawa Gold Project in Ontario, Canada.

A May 2019 mineral resource set the indicated category at the Surlaga deposit at 205,000 ounces of gold grading 5.31 g/t. Inferred was 396,000 ounces at 5.22 g/t precious metal.

“Our ongoing exploration program testing the southern and northern extensions of the Jubilee Shear Zone continues to indicate that significant zones of gold mineralization remain to be discovered down dip and beyond the existing resource footprint. “, Quentin Yarie, CEO of Red Pine Exploration said in a statement.

“Hole SD-21-308 has opened up a potential extension of gold mineralization beyond the current resource limit of the Surluga deposit, which lies less than 250 meters below surface,” he added. .

“With four drills rotating on site, our exploration program can now test the Surluga South and North discoveries and the Darwin-Grace-Nyman target in parallel.”

As part of the ongoing drilling at Wawa, Red Pine is testing the northern and southern extensions of the Surluga deposit and the extension of the Minto mining deposit beyond their respective resource footprints.

One drill is active at the north end of the Surluga deposit and two are rotating at the south end. The southern drill rigs are also simultaneously testing the Minto Mine shear zone. A fourth rig is currently testing the Grace-Nyman shear system near the historic Darwin-Grace mine.

A 2018 resource for the Minto South mine showed 25,000 ounces at 7.50 g/t gold in the indicated category and 75,000 ounces at 6.6 g/t gold in the inferred category.

Red Pine Exploration, headquartered in Toronto, is focused on its 100% owned Wawa gold asset in Ontario’s Michipicoten greenstone belt, a Tier 1 region, which has been the subject of major investment from several growers over the past five years.

The Red Pine land package covers over 6,900 hectares (Ha) and is home to many historic gold mines. Its chairman is Paul Martin, the former CEO of Detour Gold. CEO Quentin Yarie has over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration and the company says the board has extensive and diverse experience in entities such as Alamos, Barrick, Generation Mining (CSE: GENM) , Detour Gold and Paramount Gold Nevada Corp (AMEX: PZG ).
