A Cecil County man was arrested and charged on Friday after a Maryland State Police Task Force investigation into Internet Crimes Against Children developed evidence to support the charges distribution and possession of child pornography.
The suspect is identified as Eric Todd Dixon, 31, of Port Deposit, Maryland. Dixon is charged with 13 counts of possession of child pornography, tampering with material evidence of a crime, making false statements to police and obstructing and obstructing a police investigation. He was taken to the Cecil County Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.
The Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force has launched an investigation into the possession and distribution of online child pornography. The investigation identified the suspect and his residence in Cecil County.
After a detailed forensic analysis of the suspect’s electronic devices, several child pornography files were revealed. Maryland State Police (MSAT-Northern) arrested Dixon on Friday.
The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit coordinates the Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This is a combined law enforcement effort involving the Maryland Police Department, made possible in part by grants provided by the Governor’s Office for Crime Prevention, Youth Services and Youth Services. victims and by a federal grant from the US Department of Justice. Investigators in the task force are focused on identifying those involved in internet child pornography and other related crimes that victimize children.
